NEW LIBRARY PATRONS

Applications are available at the circulation desk. Two (2) forms of ID must be presented with application.

Smithfield residents must show proof of residency (i.e. current city bill or utility statement with address).

Non-residents are required to pay a yearly fee of $5 for a single applicant or $10 for a family.

 

ACCESSING YOUR ONLINE ACCOUNT

Use the link above to go the libraries online catalog. In the upper right hand corner of the catalog choose the option "create account". Using your patron number (available at the library) and name you can create a user name & passowrd. This will allow you to moniter your library account, renew books once (if not overdue or on hold), place up to 3 holds on materials, etc.

The Smithfield Public Library is a civic resource available to everyone in our community for the advancement of knowledge and to enhance the quality of life.

  • Gathering and dispensing information through printed material and modern technology
  • Developing and providing engaging programs for our children who are entering the world of reading
  • Providing a center for recreational reading, listening and viewing
  • Serving as a source/center for self-education, personal enrichment and enjoyment for the life-long learners of our community
  • Serving the community (individuals & groups) as an education/learning center
